MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Justice is following up reports that murder convict Rolito Go was seen gambling on the day he supposedly was abducted from the New Bilibid Prison.

Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan III said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will be requesting for the closed-circuit television cameras of Casino Filipino in Pampanga and Resorts World in Manila where the high-profile inmate was supposedly seen playing on the day he said he was abducted.

TV5’s Erwin Tulfo recently came out with a story based on the testimony of a witness. His witness claimed Go had frequented Casino Filipino, not just on the day that he was reported unaccounted by jail authorities.

Go claimed his four kidnappers, who identified themselves as NBI personnel, asked for a P1 million ransom from his family. They later realized he had no capability to pay the money, Go alleged. – from a report by Jing Castañeda, ABS-CBN News
