MANILA - Unlike many political figures, Vice President Jejomar Binay is not accepting the ice bucket challenge.
Binay said he is not used to the cold, and his body has limitations.
He said he was jokingly doused with cold water a few years back and got sick the following day.
Some government officials have taken up the ice bucket challenge.
Among them are Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares, and Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima.
The ice bucket challenge has participants recording themselves getting poured with ice water on the head within 24 hours of being challenged or donating to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association in the United States.
But a lot of public figures have opted to still make donations despite taking up the challenge.
