MANILA - Malacanang said the Aquino administration continues to enjoy the support of Akbayan Party despite an appeal made to President Aquino by the group's representative in the House, Walden Bello, to fire Budget Secretary Butch Abad and Agrarian Reform Secretary Virgilio delos Reyes.

Bello wants the 2 Cabinet members out of government so that the President can restore the credibility of his "tuwid na daan" reform agenda.

News reports quoted Bello as saying that Abad was damaging to the administration's reform program because of his Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), while Delos Reyes is weak and indecisive in implementing the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms (CARPer) Law.

He explained Aquino already made his decision last July 10 to maintain Abad in his Cabinet.
