PNoy, sisters mark father's death anniversary

MANILA - President Benigno Aquino III attended a Mass at the Manila Memorial Park on Thursday to commemorate the 31st death anniversary of his father, former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.

Aquino was joined by his sisters as well as partymates and Cabinet members such as Senator Franklin Drilon, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman, and Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin.

Presidential Security Group Chaplain Rev. Fr. Daniel Tansip said that if it was up to him, he wants the President's service to the country to continue.

"Personally, kung ako masusunod, sana hindi na matapos ang paglilingkod ng Pangulo tungo sa tuwid na daan," Tansip said.

However, Drilon reiterated Malacañang's official stand on calls for term extension, saying that the President has long denied interest in running again after his term ends in 2016.
