MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on Sunday morning visited at the Masbate Provincial Hospital Senior Inspector Jun Abrasado, a survivor of yesterday’s plane crash.

Abrasado is an aide of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, who remains missing along with pilot Capt. Jessup Bahinting, and Nepalese co-pilot Kshitiz Chand. The 4 were on board a five-seater Piper Seneca aircraft when it crashed at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Aquino arrived in Masbate early Sunday morning to oversee the search and rescue efforts for Robredo and the 2 pilots.

Transportation and Communication Secretary Mar Roxas, who along with other senior administration officials are with Aquino in Masbate, posted in his Twitter account that Aquino talked with Abrasado on the incident.

Roxas described Abrasado as “conscious, a few injuries none visibly serious, both arms in slings but no blood, no bandages.”

Roxas said that Robredo’s aide remains under observation by doctors because he lost consciousness late Saturday.

The transportation and communications secretary also revealed that Abrasado is also a new father of a 9-day old child.

Aquino, meanwhile, has been getting updates on the search and rescue operations where civilian and military agencies have been mobilized.
