MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez on Tuesday said former President and now Pampanga congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo should go abroad to seek a "second opinion" from specialists on her ailments.
Suarez quoted Dr. Roberto Anastacio, Arroyo's doctor at the Makati Medical Center (MMC), as saying a "neuro-cervical" doctor based in New York could examine the former president and be in a better position to recommend the appropriate medical intervention for her ailments.
Suarez also revealed that doctors had found a lump on Arroyo's left breast that needs further examination.
Suarez visited Arroyo at the MMC Monday night.
On Wednesday, Suarez is scheduled to show the medical bulletin and other important results during the minority press conference.
Meantime, the Palace is wishing for the speedy recovery of former President Arroyo.
"We hope that her condition improves," deputy presidential Abigail Valte said on Tuesday. -- with a report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
