MANILA - The Supreme Court has upheld its earlier ruling junking a plea to direct the Philippine government to press the Japanese government to issue a public apology and reparations in connection with abuses suffered by Philippine "comfort women" during World War II.
The high court stood by its 2010 ruling against the "Malaya Lolas."
No reason was cited by the SC public information office for the junking of the motion for reconsideration filed by the comfort women. A resolution will be released by SC soon.
The women earlier said portions of the April 28, 2010 ruling were plagiarized from foreign sources without proper attribution.
