MANILA, Philippines - Cecilia Lagman, mother of Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, died due to multiple organ failure Monday. She was 92.
Cecilia was the first chairperson of the Families of Victims of Involuntary Disappearance (FIND). She was the mother of activist lawyer Hermon Lagman, who disappeared during martial law, and slain labor leader Filemon Lagman.
She is survived by her three other children: Congressman Lagman, Nilda Lagman-Sevilla, incumbent chairperson of FIND; and Evita Lagman-Tresvalles, a retired public secondary school teacher.
She had 21 great grandchildren and 16 grandchildren, including Tabaco City Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro of Albay.
The wake is at the Arlington Memorial Chapels at 12 G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City, and interment will be on Saturday, 18 August 2012, at the Marikina Loyola Memorial Park.
