MANILA - The Philippine government will continue to pursue other high-profile fugitives following the arrest of former Army General Jovito Palparan, a Palace spokesman said Tuesday.

Coloma said the arrest of Palparan manifests the Aquino administration's resolve to bring to justice people being linked to extrajudicial killings in the country.

This was one of the campaign promises of President Benigno Aquino III in the 2010 elections.

The Palace spokesman said the government continues to look for other high profile suspects like former Governor Joel Reyes and his brother Mario Reyes, as well as Ruben Ecleo Jr.

"Patuloy naman silang kabilang doon sa mga high-profile na at large suspects in criminal cases at patuloy din 'yung pagkilos ng ating mga alagad ng batas para sila ay matunton at mapanagot," he said.

Coloma said the Aquino administration will not be distracted and will remain focused, whether or not it is getting high satisfaction ratings in the surveys.

A Social Weather Stations survey recently showed that the Aquino administration got a -44 satisfaction rating on resolving the Maguindanao massacre case with justice.
