MANILA - The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines has launched a website in preparation for Pope Francis' visit to the Philippines in January 2015.
The site, Mercy and Compassion Pope Francis Papal Visit 2015, features news, features and statements on the Pope's upcoming visit.
The site has a countdown on the arrival of the Pope as well as pictures of children holding up messages welcoming the Holy Father.
Roman Catholic church leaders earlier announced that Pope Francis will visit the Philippines on January 15 to 19 next year.
The Pope has expressed his intention to visit the Philippines to personally condole with thousands of survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda. He prayed for the Philippines during his first Christmas leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto, Papal Nuncio to the Philippines, also visited typhoon survivors in Tacloban on Christmas Day last year.
