MANILA - Malacanang is steering clear of Secretary Mar Roxas's statement that President Aquino should get another term.

"Walang ganung klaseng diskusyon ngayon. Ang nasabi lang ay there are some people who are...There are a number of people who expressed the sentiment for another term," said Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, referring to the statement made by Secretary Mar Roxas in an interview with ABS-CBN.

Lacierda said the President is not vocal if he has heard of sentiments for him to have another term. What he usually discusses in past speeches is his remaining number of days in office before his term ends in 2016.

Since Roxas has talked about a possible second term, Lacierda said the President may come out with his own thoughts on term extension.

"The President is sensitive to the voice of his boss so let us just wait for it," he said.

While the Palace is thankful for the expression of support, Lacierda said the public should not interpret the statement made by Secretary Roxas beyond the words that were said.

"That is a personal statement made by Secretary Roxas," he said.

He also said the government will not use the people's money and government's resources to peddle the idea to the people of giving another term to President Aquino.
