MANILA, Philippines – The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) defers its decision on the urgent motion for reconsideration filed by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.

De Lima is seeking the dismissal of two disbarment cases filed against her, which could disqualify her in her bid to become the next chief justice.

The IBP noted that de Lima has yet to furnish copies of her petition to the concerned parties, thus preventing formal investigations into the disbarment cases.

The IBP has provided copies of de Lima's petition to complainants and ordered them to submit their comments by Monday morning.

The Judicial and Bar Council is also expected to release their shortlist of chief justice nominees on Monday.

The list will be submitted to President Benigno Aquino. -- Reports from Jasmin Romero, ABS-CBN News; ANC
