MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections will present 10 additional witnesses to strengthen its electoral sabotage case against former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes said the 10 witnesses will corroborate the testimony of their key witness, former Maguindanao election supervisor Norie Unas.
The Pasay Regional Trial Court earlier said Unas' testimony is uncorroborated and not credible, which led to the granting of bail for Mrs. Arroyo.
Brillantes, however, insisted they have a strong case against the former president.
"Sa merits dapat evidence beyond reasonable doubt..We will produce additional witnesses, about 10 more to corroborate on so many things and we're going to return Unas to the witness stand to present more details," he said.
