MANILA, Philippines - A Pasay City regional trial court judge has moved to August 10 a hearing on the motion to recall the granting of bail to former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Pasay RTC branch 112 Judge Jesus Mupas postponed the hearing after Arroyo's lawyer, Benjamin Santos, said he only received this morning the Commission on Election's motion for reconsideration on Mrs. Arroyo's bail.
Mupas earlier said he will determine if the prosecution will present new evidence to prove that they have a strong case on the electoral sabotage charges filed against the former President in connection with the alleged cheating in the senatorial elections in Maguindanao in 2007.
Mrs. Arroyo was released from hospital detention last Wednesday after posting P1-million in the electoral sabotage case filed against her. With a report from Johnson Manabat, radio dzMM
