MANILA - The Aquino administration aims to reach 4.3 million households with its Pantawid Pamilya Program by the end of the year.

That is after the program hit its goal of helping 4 million families.

Under the program, a cash grant is given to households who keep their children in school.

Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma said government is targeting the poorest of the poor or about 23 percent of the population.

He also said the government is on track to address the classroom shortage.

The Department of Education has completed more than 66,000 classrooms, fulfilling their backlog.

But Coloma added they still want to meet the ideal classroom-to-student ratio.
