GMA won't show up for PNoy's SONA
MANILA, Philippines - Former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will not be attending the third State of the Nation Address of her successor, President Benigno Aquino III.
House Minority Leader Rep. Danilo Suarez said Mrs. Arroyo remains under hospital arrest at the Veteran's Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City on electoral sabotage charges.
Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay, meanwhile, said a total of 235 congressmen showed up in the opening of Congress' third session Monday.
In his opening remarks, Speaker Sonny Belmonte made a call to revisit the economic provisions of the Constitution.
He said the country must ride on its recent economic gains and sustain it by attracting more foreign investments.
