MANILA - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Tuesday said it has accounted for P143.330 million in allocations from the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) given to the department.
DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz told reporters that they were able to spend P134.126 million from the amount.
She said P1.4 million was returned to the National Treasury, while the remaining P7.7 million continues to be implemented.
According to the DOLE's website, the P143 million additional funding from the DAP was used to fund five projects from 2012 to 2013.
These are the Special Program for the Employment of Students, the Government Internship Program, the Emergency Employment under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Displaced Workers, the Production of Labor Market Information, and the acquisition of information technology (IT) communication devices.
According to Baldoz, the department was able to submit its accomplishment report on the DAP funds.
She said the report contains the names and addresses of the beneficiaries of the projects.
She said the projects were implemented directly by the DOLE, and they never utilized any non-government organization (NGO) linked to Janet Lim Napoles.
