MANILA - The Estradas criticized President Aquino's attempt to challenge the Supreme Court decision on the disbursement acceleration program (DAP).
Senator Jinggoy Estrada, who first exposed the existence of DAP in a privilege speech, said it will be hard for Malacañang to overturn the High Court's unanimous decision.
He said doing so would result in a clash between the executive and the judiciary.
Estrada has also alleged the DAP funds were used to reward senators who voted to convict former Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Meanwhile, his father, former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, raised fears of a constitutional crisis.
"What I'm afraid of there might be a constitutional crisis. Because he doesn't want to accept the decision of the Supreme Court," he said.
Senator JV Ejercito, half-brother of Senator Estrada, said the President's high popularity has given the wrong notion that he is above the law.
"Ang naging attitude lately ng Pangulo, siguro dahil popular siya for the past 4 years, ay nagkaroon ng negative effect na parang kahit na sino ay pwedeng gawin kasi popular sya for the past 4 years. Extended honeymoon eh," he said.
