MANILA - Special prosecutors from the Office of the Ombudsman are now also asking the Sandiganbayan to transfer Sen. Jinggoy Estrada to Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig.

In a motion submitted to the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division, prosecutors said there is no legal basis for Estrada's stay at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame.

The prosecutors slammed the alleged special treatment given to Estrada based on earlier reports that the senator was allowed to host a party inside the Custodial Center.

They said the Custodial Center is not meant to be a detention facility, and the law mandates that accused persons are supposed to be detained at a detention facility nearest to the court.

Prosecutors also earlier asked the First Division to transfer Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and his former staff, lawyer Richard Cambe, to the Taguig jail.

They also want businesswoman Janet Napoles transferred there, saying transporting her to the Sandiganbayan from the Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna is impractical for the police.
