MANILA - Malacanang said the current approval ratings President Benigno Aquino III got from survey firms are still par for the course.
In a statement, Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said: “A healthy majority has expressed trust and confidence in the President. We believe that as the President explains to the people the truth of the matter with ongoing issues, the public will understand and respect the tough choices he has made for the public good.”
Malacanang sees the results as “average.”
The Social Weather Station (SWS) survey saw Aquino’s public satisfaction drop to +25 from +45 during the last quarter.
Aquino’s best was recorded at +67 in August 2012.
The Pulse Asia survey also showed his ratings drop considerably this quarter, when the issue of the Disbursement Acceleration Program reached fever-pitch.
Aquino's performance rating fell 14 percentage points to 56 percent from March to June while his trust rating tumbled 16 points to 53 percent.
