MANILA - Senator Juan Ponce Enrile has asked the Sandiganbayan to defer his arraignment scheduled on Friday.
In his motion for deferment of arraignment, his lawyers said they they fear Enrile's medical condition will be further aggravated if he attends the July 11 arraignment.
Earlier today, his lawyers also filed a motion for a Bill of Particulars to help them prepare for trial.
His lawyers asked the anti-graft court to reschedule the arraignment as soon as the Bill of Particulars is turned over to them by the prosecution, and Enrile's health has stabilized.
Enrile is one of the three senators facing plunder and graft charges in connection with the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.
He is detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital.
