Bong wants PNoy, Arroyo to testify for his defense

MANILA - The camp of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. wants the Sandiganbayan to subpoena President Benigno Aquino III and former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for his defense in his plunder case.

Both were listed as his witnesses, including Senate President Franklin Drilon, Ombudsman Conchita Caprio-Morales, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, Budget Secretary Florencio Abad and Commission on Audit (COA) Chairperson Grace Pulido-Tan.

He also named former Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr. as his witness.

He also wants to subpoena members of the Special Panel of Investigators of the Office of the Ombudsman, members of the Field Investigation Office of the Ombudsman, and members of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) who investigated his case.

He also wants to call in his chief of staff Elena Alejar and former staff Richard Cambe.

He also asked the court to subpoena forensic document examiners and an information technology expert.

These are all contained in his pre-trial brief.

The pre-trial hearing was postponed today after it was discovered that the prosecution was not yet through with its pre-marking of evidence. – from a report by Ruby Tayag, dzMM
