MANILA, Philippines - The release of the priority development assistance fund (PDAF) to senators after the impeachment trial and conviction of former Chief Justice Renato Corona is nothing political, an administration ally in the Senate said Thursday.
Sen. Franklin Drilon said no political motive can be ascribed to the release of the fund, also known as the pork barrel, because even senators who voted to acquit Corona got theirs,
"There is no political color to this. It is in regular course that they were released," said Drilon, who confirmed that he has received his pork barrel. "It is not based on the votation in the impeachment trial."
