MANILA - Dennis Cunanan, Technology Resource Center (TRC) director-general on leave and a co-accused in the pork barrel scam case, is asking the Sandiganbayan to allow him to travel abroad.

In his manifestation and motion for leave of court and travel abroad, Cunanan said he has pending trips to Japan and the United States as part of his duties as world secretary-general of the Junior Chamber International (Jaycees).

He reminded the court that when he learned of the charges, he immediately made arrangements to go back home.

Cunanan earlier told the Senate Blue Ribbon committee that Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon Revilla Jr. pressured him to release their priority development assistance funds to non-government organizations linked to Janet Lim Napoles.

This allegedly took place when he would call their offices in the Senate to confirm the endorsement letters and signatures.

The Ombudsman, however, has denied his application as state witness in the cases related to the pork barrel scam.
