MANILA - A Palace official guarantees respect for Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada once they are ordered arrested by the Sandiganbayan.
Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma said, "Law enforcement officers will follow court orders and perform their duties in accordance with law, giving due respect to the rights of the concerned individuals."
The three lawmakers, along with other individuals, face arrest for plunder cases filed in connection with the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.
They allegedly siphoned off their Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) into bogus projects implemented by bogus organizations of Janet Lim Napoles, also an accused in the case.
Estrada earlier said he will voluntarily surrender to authorities once the anti-graft court issues an arrest warrant against him.
"I have already spoken with a ranking policeman, a general in Camp Crame. Ang sabi ko, 'you don't need to arrest me, you don't need to go to my house kasi baka ma-trauma iyung mga anak ko eh, especially iyung maliit na anak ko. Just tell me where to go and I am willing to go there,'" he told ANC.
Revilla, likewise, said he can either be fetched by arresting officers or he could voluntarily surrender.
"Kausap ko lang itong taong ito (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Director Benjamin Magalong) na wag niyo akong babuyin. Baka hindi maging maganda ang mangyari pag ako ay bababuyin," he said.
