MANILA - Senator Jinggoy Estrada advised Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. to “stay cool and pray” ahead of his impending arrest.
Estrada said he knows how it feels to be arrested for the first time.
Estrada was previously charged with plunder in 2001 along with his father, former President Joseph Estrada.
The first division of the Sandiganbayan found probable cause to proceed with the plunder raps against Revilla on Thursday afternoon, paving the way for his arrest.
The court is already drafting the warrants against Revilla and his co-accused, including businesswoman Janet Napoles who is already detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Estrada, whose case is being heard at the fifth division also allegedly due to the plunder of his pork barrel, hopes he will be detained in the same cell as Revilla. He said it will be sad to be alone in jail.
Meanwhile, Revilla’s journey to the Sandiganbayan is now being watched by pundits and the public.
He is still currently at his home in Bacoor, Cavite, where his supporters are coming and going. He is expected to surrender later today.
Flyers are being disseminated showing support for Revilla. Earlier, he went around Manila and other provinces to seek support. – from a report by Ruby Tayag, dzMM
