MANILA - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released the calendar of activities for the October 28, 2013 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Based on Comelec resolution 9715, voters for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections can start registering as voters from July 22 to July 31.
The election period begins September 28, lasting 30 days before the elections.
Just like the national elections, firearms and weapons ban and appointments ban will be implemented.
The filing of candidacies will be from October 15 to 17, while the campaign period is from October 18 to 26, 2013.
A liquor ban will be implemented on the day before election day and election day.
On election day, there will also be a ban on fairs, cockfights, boxing, horse races and similar sports.
The election period will run till 15 days after the October 28, barangay elections.
The deputy executive director for operations, Bartolome Sinocruz, is the designated project management officer for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
