MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said they can’t just revoke the passport of any individual indicted in the pork barrel case unless the court says so.

"Hindi kami pwedeng basta-basta mag-cancel ng passport, o hindi bibigyan ng passport, kung walang court order," said Assistant Secretary Charles Jose, who is also DFA spokesman.

Jose explained that even with a petition by the Department of Justice, they cannot proceed with the revocation if it's not covered by a court order.

Three separate divisions of the Sandiganbayan have already issued hold departure orders against Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, and Ramon Revilla Jr. in connection with the alleged plunder of their pork barrel.
