MANILA - Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. is not bothered by the negative reactions to his privilege speech on Monday, which included a song he dedicated to his supporters.

"I'm a good sport," Revilla said on Wednesday.

The senator nonetheless apologized to those who did not like his speech and song.

"Kung meron man akong hindi napaligaya tayo ay humihingi ng paumanhin sa kanila pero ang awitin na yun hinahandog ko sa 20 milyong taong sumuporta sa akin at patuloy na nagmamahal," he said.

The song, titled "Salamat Kaibigan," was sung by Revilla himself. It also had its own music video.

It became a trending topic on social media on Monday, and also spawned memes online.

Revilla is one of the three senators facing plunder and graft charges before the Sandiganbayan over the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.

Malacañang on Tuesday told the senator to listen to the negative reactions. "It is best that we listen to the taxpayers whose money is being spent in such exercise," Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma said. -- Report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
