MANILA - Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice on Tuesday urged Vice-President Jejomar Binay to resign from the Aquino Cabinet and reveal "his true colors."
Following Binay's claims of a demolition job by Liberal Party (LP) officials, Erice told Binay to take a stand and decide whether he is an administration ally or an opposition leader.
The lawmaker is an official of the ruling LP.
Erice said the LP needs to start defending itself from what he calls "two-faced attacks" by Binay and his partymates in the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).
He also criticized the vice-president's daughter, Rep. Abigail Binay and UNA spokesperson Rep. Toby Tiangco for accusing the LP of being behind the alleged smear campaign but at the same time clearing President Aquino of any involvement.
Erice said the allegations are an insult to the President.
Meanwhile, Rep. Binay said her father will not give up his Cabinet post just to please Erice.
