MANILA, Philippines – Soldiers are rooting for the fighting Congressman Manny Pacquiao, who's also an Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reservist with a rank of lieutenant colonel.

Major camps will offer free live viewing of Pacquiao's fight against Timothy Bradley on Sunday.

“Manny Pacquiao continues to inspire our soldiers. Sa mga laban niya nakikita namin ang kanyang determinasyon kaya ang ating mga sundalo ay continuing with that kind of spirit," said AFP spokesman Col. Arnulfo Burgos.

As the fight gets underway, the AFP will remain on heightened alert.

"We will not let our guard down. When Manny Pacquiao defends his title the Armed Forces of the Philippines will be on heightened vigilance,” said Burgos.

A live viewing will also be held for soldiers confined at the AFP hospital in V-Luna.
