MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE 1) - Some 40 congressmen have made ticket reservations to watch the upcoming fight of Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao against undefeated boxer Timothy Bradley in Las Vegas this Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Yacap party Rep. Carol Lopez, a good friend of Pacquiao, said: “I really don't know how many will be watching this time. More or less daw. But I don’t have exact figures or names. Based on ticket reservation sa staff ni MP.”

Lopez said she won't be watching the fight.

“Prior commitments and  no close friends are watching either. Wala na akong kasama :) They’re all gonna be busy campaigning na. Nakakahiya nga kay Cong Manny,” she said.

Earlier, House Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II said he will watch the fight in Rockwell on Sunday. He has no idea who will be watching the fight.

House Speaker Sonny Belmonte on Monday told reporters that he knows of at least 2 congressmen who will watch the fight in the US but clarified there could be more. Belmonte did not give any more details.

No travel authority is needed for the fight scheduled on Sunday since Congress adjourns its second regular session, sine die, this week.
