MANILA, Philippines - Presidential frontrunner Benigno "Noynoy" III is refusing to live in Malacanang, and instead, is contemplating on renting a condominium where he will reside when he assumes the highest post in the country.
Aquino said that he does not want to live in Malacanang because of what he described as "negative vibes," while he considers the house on Arlegui Street where her mother, Corazon Aquino, once lived when she was president of the country, as just too large.
Aquino prefers to live at his family's house on Times Street, and said it was difficult for him to leave the house where has has resided for so long.
Aware of the security issues however, Aquino said he has yet to talk to the barangay captain in his area of residence.
"We haven't had a chance to talk to the barangay captain, to them yet, consultative naman tayo. We would want to minimize inconvenience to them as much as possible," said Aquino.
Aquino said he just may take up on offers for him to reside, and he may just rent a condominium.
According to an official of Barangay West Triangle, they haven't received any complaints yet about Aquino's continued stay at Times Street.
A neighbor said they are happy that Aquino lives in their area, and they can approach him if they need help.
