MANILA (UPDATED) - Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles will have to stay in the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) for now after a local court held off its decision on her petition for an extended hospital stay.

Napoles was supposed to be returned to Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where she is detained for a serious illegal detention case filed by whistleblower Benhur Luy, by today upon the order of the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 150 issued last Tuesday.

Napoles' camp, however, filed Wednesday an urgent motion before the court to allow her to stay longer in the hospital due to bleeding.

Napoles started experiencing vaginal spotting last Saturday, and heavy vaginal bleeding Monday, her doctors said.

After today's hearing on Napoles' urgent motion where her chief physician Dr. Efren Domingo testified, Alameda held in abeyance his earlier order to transfer Napoles back to her detention cell.

Alameda said he will not make a decision until Napoles' safety and security are assured when she's transferred.

The court summoned OsMak director Ishmael Peralta and Dr. Florentina Villanueva, head of the OsMak's obstetrics and gynecological department, to the next hearing on Napoles' urgent motion on Monday.

Napoles' doctors had recommended her continued confinement at the OsMak due to the complications from her April 23 operation.

Domingo said Napoles, who underwent surgery to remove a cyst in her uterus, needs to be on complete bed rest until the bleeding stops.

"Ideally sana huwag mangyari ang pag-transfer kasi nga kami ay nagrerekomenda na i-stay siya sa ospital at huwag na munang paalisin. Ito'y pag-unawa sa sitwasyon ng isang tao na merong kritikal na kondisyon, na nabinat sa isang major operation," he said.

Napoles' doctors refused to speculate as to how many more days she will have to stay in the hospital and how soon she will recover.

Napoles' lawyer Bruce Rivera had denied that the bleeding was just made up to let her stay longer in the hospital.

"Mahirap naman pong gumawa ng dugo at ilabas mo sa katawan mo. Mahirap po yun... Ilang araw na po siyang hindi masyadong nakakatulog dahil po tinatapos namin yung affidavits kasi kailangan na po naming umalis ng Ospital ng Makati kaya kailangan na naming matapos. Kaya po siguro nagkaroon ng stress kaya nagkaroon ng bleeding," Rivera said. -- With reports from Zhander Cayabyab, dzMM; Doris Bigornia, ABS-CBN News
