Mitos wants pork scam cases filed
MANILA - Former Zambales Representative Mitos Magsaysay said the Ombudsman should begin filing cases against those involved in the pork barrel scam.
She said this is a better alternative for officials who are implicated in the scam and are being subjected to criticisms in the court of public opinion.
Though not in any of the "Napolists", Magsaysay denied having met nor having transacted with Benhur Luy nor Janet Lim-Napoles.
House Minority Leader Ronaldo Zamora earlier said the Ombudsman should start filing cases before the Sandiganbayan so that those who are guilty of pocketing pork barrel funds will be jailed.
Zamora said that that the guilty should be put to jail and the innocent should be set free following the release of different lists of lawmakers who supposedly benefited from the pork barrel scam.
The minority leader said he neither met nor transacted with pork scam whistleblower Benhur Luy. He also said that he did not sign anything and that since there were no Special Allotment Release Orders (SARO), no money was exchanged.
Aurora Rep. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo, who was also mentioned in at least one of the so-called Napolists, said that she does not know Luy, nor Janet Lim Napoles.
She said her staff has already checked with the Department of Transportation and Communication and they found out that her office did not have transactions with the department.
