MANILA - Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas twitted Senator Bong Revilla for accusing him of harassment after local police attempted to search the Revilla mansion in Cavite on election day.
Roxas insisted that the policemen were just doing their job after receiving reports that civilians were carrying high powered firearms in their area, which is considered an election offense.
Revilla later claimed that the men were operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation who were deployed by the agency for their protection.
Roxas said that the Cavite PNP initially asked the court for a search warrant of the compound but failed to secure one. Consequently, the police were not able to enter the Revilla residence.
