MANILA - Senator JV Ejercito wants the Senate Blue Ribbon committee and Secretary Ping Lacson to publicly clarify that he was not involved in the pork barrel scam after the lawyer of Janet Napoles apologized to him and clarified that Ejercito was not supposed to be included on the list of allegedly involved lawmakers.

Speaking to reporters, Ejercito initially asked for an apology but later said that a clarification would be enough from those who released the list.

"Hindi naman mag-apologize, just correct the error. Damage has been done to my reputation. A week, ang aking litrato ay nasa balita," Ejercito said.

"Sana lang sa susunod, be more prudent. Sabi ko nga kaakibat nitong authority, nitong freedom na ito, syempre may responsibilidad din naman sila."

Ejercito is sparing Justice Secretary Leila de Lima who had wanted and requested Blue Ribbon committee chair TG Guingona to withhold the release of the list without an accompanying affidavit signed by Napoles.

"To be fair kay Secretary de Lima, may word of caution siya na huwag ilalabas ito nang walang documentary evidence. '‘Yun lang naman ang aking kinalulungkot e. Listahan lang yan e. Dapat talaga may due diligence 'yan," Ejercito said.

Ejercito and Majority Floor Leader Alan Peter Cayetano reiterated their desire for the continuation of the Blue Ribbon committee hearing on the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam to clear things up once and for all.

"From the start, wala namang credibility ang listahan and we're happy na na-clear kami but that’s not the point. It’s beyond us. E kawawa naman ang mga nabanggit na iba na hindi inosente at paano naman ang mga hindi nabanggit na guilty talaga. Kaya kailangan nga ng hearing at face-to-face at medyo mag-isip ang mga secretary how to handle this well, even the chairman of the Blue Ribbon committee. I’m disappointed that hindi hinintay ang affidavit at sinabay dito,” Cayetano said.

Cayetano is also calling for the reopening of a probe on the fertilizer scam, citing the reported willingness of Benhur Luy to testify.

He said that the scam is related to the PDAF and Malampaya fund scam.
