MANILA - Sen. Joseph Victor "JV" Ejercito on Monday thanked the camp of Janet Lim Napoles for admitting they made a mistake in including his name in a list of lawmakers who allegedly received pork barrel kickbacks.
In a series of tweets, Ejercito said the release of the list without accompanying documents tarnished the reputation even of those who are innocent.
He criticized the Department of Justice and the Senate Blue Ribbon committee for releasing the list without the supporting documentary evidence.
Ejercito said there was "malicious intention" to destroy his character when his name was included. He said that for a week, his name was included among those who allegedly benefited from the scam.
Bruce Rivera earlier said the encoder made a mistake when Ejercito's name was included in the list. He said Mrs. Napoles is now preparing a second affidavit, which will supposedly name more in the pork barrel scam.
