MANILA - Senator Sonny Angara won't heed the reported call of the Napoles camp for senators being implicated in the pork barrel scam to inhibit from a Senate inquiry should it continue.
Angara has denied any involvement in the scam, reiterating that he has not allocated his priority development assistance funds (PDAF) as congressman to any non-government organization.
Angara has been implicated in the pork barrel scam following the release of the signed list of lawmakers from alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles.
The signed list had the written notation "Cong. Angara - APO" on the list of congressmen who allegedly had transactions with Napoles. Angara has said all his PDAF from 2004-2013 went to
local government units' schools and hospitals within his congressional district in Aurora.
The lawyer of Mrs. Napoles has said legislators being linked to the scam should inhibit in the Senate investigation.
Meanwhile, Angara believes that the Senate still has the credibility to investigate the scam, saying that evidence is needed for any “list” to be considered credible.
