MANILA - Senator Alan Peter Cayetano has asked Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Teofisto Guingona III to reopen the pork barrel scam investigation and modify the rules so that all accused can be cross-examined.

In a letter to Guingona, Cayetano said, “It is on behalf of Filipino families that I ask the Blue Ribbon to take the constructive steps necessary to end the speculation and rumor-mongering, and to serve justice on the wrongdoers.”

He also wants Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, former Senator Panfilo Lacson, businesswoman Janet Napoles and her husband Jaime Napoles, and whistleblowers led by Benhur Luy subpoenaed.

He also sought the subpoena of records from the departments of Budget and Management and Agriculture, and the Commission on Audit.

Cayetano himself was named on the list disclosed by Lacson.

Cayetano said these lists are being used to thwart the truth.

“I am willing to face any and all of my accusers. Those who wish to destroy my name should do so face to face and provide details of their accusations. I will answer any and all of their questions, and I will answer them before the Filipino families whom I have sworn to serve,” he said.
