MANILA - The public will have the chance to see the list made by Janet Lim Napoles allegedly containing the names of other lawmakers involved in the pork barrel scam.
This was the assurance given by Senate Blue Ribbon committee chair TG Guingona as he announced that he has issued a subpoena for Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to turn over Napoles’ list within the week.
“I think it’s time already. In the spirit of transparency, I think it’s time that the list should be brought out,” Guingona said.
“I don’t see any reason why I should put it in my drawer and hide it."
Guingona also announced that rehabilitation czar Panfilo Lacson has also “committed to turn over documents that he has in his possession” to the committee within the week.
The list in the hands of Lacson would be compared to that kept by de Lima.
As to when another hearing on the PDAF scam would be called would be decided later on.
“Produce the list and the documents. Magkakaroon ng hearing, yes. That’s the necessary consequence,” Guingona said.
For now, the committee has set a hearing on the alleged misuse of the Malampaya funds on May 22, Thursday. Commission on Audit chair Grace Pulido Tan is expected to appear.
The committee earlier issued a report recommending plunder and graft charges against Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.
Senate President Franklin Drilon and Senator Pia Cayetano have signed the report today, bringing the signatories to 12.
