MANILA, Philippines - Sudden changes in weather are affecting the health of President Benigno Aquino III.
Palace spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said President Aquino's persistent coughing last Monday when he delivered his speech in Pangasinan was an effect of changes in weather.
Lacierda said the President was exposed to "hot and cold" (init-lamig) weather when he visited Corregidor on Sunday.
"Napakainit po noong panahong 'yon so init-lamig po kami. So napawisan po si Presidente,” Lacierda said.
After leading the commemoration of the Fall of Corregidor, the President and members of his Cabinet also toured the different historic sites at the island.
“Kahit ho kami may mga sipon po kami. 'Yung iba sa amin may konting sipon po dahil nga sa init lamig. So, I think, ngayon he's a lot better na," Lacierda said. - report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
