Philippine dance part of cultural number in ASEAN dinner

NAY PYI TAW, Myanmar - A Filipino dance presentation was among the cultural presentations featured in the welcome dinner for leaders of the Association Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The dinner was hosted by Myanmar President U Thein Sein Saturday night ahead of the main summit on Sunday.

President U Thein Sein personally welcomed all the ASEAN leaders, including President Aquino, to the Myanmar International Convention Center.

The presentations were preceded by a group picture of all the leaders and their spouses.

Earlier Saturday, President Aquino arrived at the Nay Pyi Taw International airport where he was met by Philippine embassy and Myanmar officials and accorded arrival honors.

Ten heads of government are in the Myanmar capital for the 24th Summit of the regional grouping, which is being hosted by Myanmar for the first time this year.
