MANILA - Senator Francis Escudero said he would vote in favor of passing an anti-political dynasty bill but he said that legislators should address how to deal with a situation where relatives are running at the same time.
He said that there would be questions as to who will decide to give way in cases where the relatives are at odds against each other.
"If one is disqualified, who will be disqualified? Who gets to decide who will be disqualified?" he said.
Escudero earlier said it is up to voters whether or not they want political dynasties to stay in power. He pointed out that there are no anti-political dynasty laws in both the US and UK, two of the strongest democracies in the world.
