MANILA - A new survey by Pulse Asia shows most Filipinos are not aware of the Charter change resolution in Congress.
The Pulse Asia survey conducted last March 19-26 shows 61 percent of respondents have not heard, read or watched anything about the resolution to amend the economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution.
Of the 19 percent who are aware of the Cha-cha resolution, 44 percent agree with it, 36 percent are undecided and only 19 percent disagree. It is only in Metro Manila where a majority level of agreement may be noted (58%).
A total of 1,200 individuals participated in the survey.
At the time of the survey, news broke out on the approval by the House of Representatives committee on constitutional amendments of a resolution calling for amendments to the economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution, the decision of the Supreme Court to postpone its ruling on the Reproductive Health Law and the posturings of some individuals said to be interested in running for the 2016 presidential elections.
Pulse Asia said the survey has a ± 3% error margin at the 95%
confidence level. Subnational estimates for each of the geographic areas covered in the survey (i.e., Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) have a ± 6% error margin, also at 95% confidence level.
