MANILA -- Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles may now be discharged from the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) after undergoing surgery last April 23, the hospital said in its progress report.
The progress report, dated May 5, has been submitted to the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 150, clerk of court Diosfa Valencia said on Tuesday.
Napoles is currently confined at the OsMak following an operation to remove the tumor in her uterus.
Napoles' attending physicians are requesting that she undergo follow-up check-ups in the next four weeks.
According to Valencia, it is now up to the Philippine National Police (PNP) to decide when Napoles will be brought back to Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where she is detained for a serious illegal detention case filed by pork scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
She said security must be arranged first before Napoles is transported back to her detention cell.
Lawyers for Napoles, meanwhile, have said that they will appeal for her extended stay at the hospital since she has to be on full bed rest.
Napoles' attending physicians are set to give an update on the businesswoman's health status at a press conference Tuesday afternoon. -- Report from Carolyn Bonquin, ABS-CBN News; ANC
