MANILA -- Senator Loren Legarda has insisted her controversial condominium unit in Manhattan, New York is not solely hers despite US public documents saying otherwise.

In a statement, Legarda pointed out her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Networth (SALN) filing will detail she only poured in P7.175 million for the luxury condo unit which is equal to one-fourth of the property's total amount of P28.7 million.

Legarda noted the property was included in her SALN since 2007 until her latest submission in 2012.

"Isa po itong black propaganda dahil di po ako natitinag sa pagiging number one," the senator, who is running for another term in the upcoming polls, stressed.

Earlier this week, ABS-CBN obtained two US documents showing Legarda was the sole proprietor of the condo unit in a building along Park Avenue in Manhattan, New York City.

Legarda claimed the controversy surrounding her Manhattan property is only a work of her fellow candidates who wish to discredit her as she remains at the top of poll surveys.
