11 Team PNoy, 5 UNA bets make it to top 16
MANILA - Two more Team PNoy candidates--Risa Hontiveros and Ramon Magsaysay Jr.--made it to the list of 16 "probable winners" if elections were held April 20-22, according to the latest pre-election survey of Pulse Asia.
It is the first time that Hontiveros and Magsaysay made it to the list of candidates who may win one of 12 Senate seats up for grabs in the May 13 elections.
Hontiveros was previously ranked 16th to 18th in the March 16 Pulse Asia survey while Magsaysay was ranked 13th to 18th.
Most of the probable winners' levels of support were "generally unchanged" from March to April 20-22.
However, Pulse Asia said 5 candidates on the list suffered a "decline in their respective national voter preferences," namely:
Nancy Binay (-5.0 percentage points)
Jack Enrile (-5.2 percentage points)
Alan Peter Cayetano (-8.7 percentage points)
Gringo Honasan (-8.9 percentage points)
Koko Pimentel (-9.0 percentage points)
Team PNoy candidates continue to dominate the list of probable winners. The 16 candidates with a chance of making it if elections were held less than a month before the polls are:
Alan Peter Cayetano
Antonio Trillanes IV
The survey showed Filipinos are naming a mean of seven and a median of six preferred senatorial candidates (out of a maximum of 12) for the May 2013 elections. A little over a quarter of Filipinos (27%) already has a complete senatorial slate for the May polls.
The nationwide survey, with 1,800 respondents, has a margin of error of plus/minus 2%.
