MANILA, Philippines - The Palace brushed aside criticisms of militant group Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), accusing the Aquino administration of failure to improve the plight of Filipino workers.
Lacierda said unemployment figures have gone down based on the National Statistics Office's Labor Force Survey and that there has been an increase in the number of jobs, with more investments pouring in, including in the manufacturing industry.
Lacierda noted that KMU has said "nothing good" about the Aquino administration.
"That's always their contention anyway. These are professional critics who have nothing good to say about the Aquino administration," he said.
Meantime, he said that the Department of Trade and Industry will be offering a diskwento (discount) caravan on school supplies.
