MANILA, Philippines - Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero officially disclosed his new civil status via his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN).

In his 2011 SALN submitted before the Office of the Senate Secretary, Escudero placed “separated” as his marital status.

In media interviews, Escudero has always deflected questions regarding his marriage to Christine Elizabeth “Tintin” Flores.

They are parents to fraternal twins, now four years old.

It was Philippine Star columnist Ricky Lo who, last year, confirmed the news about Escudero's break up with his wife of 10 years.

Chiz met his wife at the Sulo Hotel in Quezon City where she had worked as a lounge singer. They got married in December 1999.

Last year, Escudero was linked to President Benigno Aquino’s sister, Kris. Both denied they were in a relationship.

Flores, on the other hand, had been linked to a member of an all-male dancing group. - from a report by Ruby Tayag, dzMM
